Design Trends in the Kitchen 2017

With the start of 2017 sees kitchens continuing to be the hub of the home. Upgrading your kitchen or just adding a few tweaks not only adds monetary value to the home it also adds emotional value.

Range Master

For example, one of the big trends of this year is a range cooker. Who doesn’t want or have one of these?Year upon year we have increasing demand for them, after all if the kitchen is the hub of the home the cooker is surely the heart? And we all have memories we can associate with food, whether it be teaching our children to bake, hosting a birthday party or a relaxing night in with home cooking and friends. What better to make these memories with a range cooker, where you have plenty of hobs and oven space to make a stress free christmas dinner or show off your stir fry skills on your wok burner.

Another trend that is probably only going to grow with time is the technology we use in the kitchen. If you are entertaining or even just chilling out after a hard day at work who doesn’t want integrated bluetooth speakers and kitchen lighting you can control with your phone? And as we all must have our mobiles handy in the kitchen as we are Googling conversions, measures and recipes or choosing a playlist a pop up power supply unit to charge it would be wonderful. You could even use it to plug in an appliance or two!

One of the most striking trends of 2017 is Quartz worktops. Crushed quartz stone is mixed with resin to produce countertops that range from solid colors to the look of real granite. Quartz is almost industructable making it a timeless investment, it is more widely available and affordable these days so in the world of worktops it is kicking laminates butt.

A final trend is colour. More neutral colours are go at the minute, like all shades of grey and cream these can be accented with copper or gold to add focal points as an alternative to steel and other metallic finishes.
